*Anyone know a good help forum with a lot of computer savvy people who might know something about wacom issues that I could go ask?
My system specs:
Intuos 4 (AND intuos 3, tried individually. They are not plugged in simultaneously) When I got tired of trying things on my intuos4, I gave up and tried my intuos3 assuming it was hardware damage on the four. No such luck. Intuos 3 and 4 seem to work fine on my laptop.
Photoshop CS5, but problem occurs outside of photoshop.
The problem I'm having is,
On my intuos3 AND intuos4, I am having the same issue. My tablet pen's brush stokes will start to show gaps (not yet confirmed on intuos3). While using selection tool it will randomly deselect and reselect with a straight, slanted line. The side button of my pen will activate itself (in my case bringing up right click).
The problem may not start until a couple of hours after a fresh driver install or restart, and sometimes persists even after a restart. I've always had a few driver issues, but this started pretty suddenly a few days ago. The problem happens outside of photoshop. I often get the side-button error while using the scroll bar in chrome. It also happens with my tablet mouse. I cannot stress enough that this is happening on TWO completely different tablets that worked fine before, and that have never been plugged in simultaneously. I gave up trying to fix my intuos4 and plugged in the three.. ended up with the same errors.
What I have tried:
Disabling tabletinputservice (and stopping/restarting it)
New drivers, old drivers. I try to do clean installs with the tablet unplugged, after removing drivers from both human interface devices and the uninstall a program feature in control panel. The only thing I can make note of here is that no matter what I do, windows will also install it's own driver. Regardless of whether or not I install one before I plug in the tablet (I've tried installing new drivers without the tablet plugged in, restarting or shutting down before I plug it in).
Switching USB ports. Tried the ones on the front and back.
Uninstalling Adobe Air
Removed user preferences from wacom's file utility.
Reformatting and updating windows.
I have nothing left to try. I am out of ideas. I have no idea what could be wrong. Could this be hardware failure in my tower? Nothing else on my PC has been acting up.
Has windows activated something new without me knowing it? Re-enabled something I can't find?
I'm completely at a loss guys, and exhausted. I've tried everything over several days now. I'm pretty sure I've exhausted every previous suggestion.
The only things I've reinstalled since I reformatted and updated are Skype, Pidgin, CS5 from a disc, chrome, and manycam and my logitech webcam (which installed it's own driver. This wasn't plugged in until after the tablet started showing errors again, actually, I plugged it in by accident while trying to plug in the intuos3). I had a mouse plugged into one of my front USB ports that I don't plug in often, but it's been in and out several times without issue before this problem started. The problem persists even when it's unplugged.
