I came close to storing the commission art on my account today. The only thing that stopped me is that I think some commissioners would rather it was posted. Maybe because they have a collection here on the site where they like to display artwork, or they just enjoy having it available through deviantart.
I think the rest probably don't care. When someone commissions me, I assume they realize the art will be posted because I have generally always posted commissioned work (unless the commissioner specifically asks me not to before I start and I agree).
I put a disclaimer and copyright notice on everything I post, but I don't watermark the art, and I probably never will. I realize some people would prefer watermarks.
If you are a commissioner of mine or someone I've done gift art for, with art posted in this gallery and would prefer the artwork be stored, let me know.
If you like the artwork to be visible, let me know.Try to
reference the artwork by link if you can, or describe it for me. If you're using a name I may not recognize please
tell me your old username so I'll know who I'm talking to.
If I don't get a response from someone after a while, I will probably just go ahead and store the work. I don't know how this will effect future commissions and I think Cats will probably be excluded because the cats are a little more distanced from the original character design. I realize this is going to leave my gallery looking pretty muddy and I'm sorry about that, but I think it's a necessary evil. I am not deleting the artwork because I enjoy having the date it was posted and comments/info retrievable.
Excluded: Hetherev Art For I think obvious reasons.
Possible exclusions: Unless someone ASKS for their portion of a sketch dump or compilation to be stored/removed, I will probably do nothing. I'm not sure what to do about those yet.
Concerning gift art: If someone requests that their commission remain visible, I'm going to assume that means gift art too. I know I have a couple of people with multiple sketches from me.

You don't have to feel bad asking for art to be stored. I am giving you this option because I want you to have it. If you would like it stored, you only need say so.

In the case of the mass doodle dumps, if I get someone who doesn't want the art posted what I will probably do is edit that portion of it out and leave the rest up. This is why I need links and things because I don't want to have to search for a needle in a haystack. Just saying 'hay! I want mine taken down' won't work, because I may not recognize your name or the character/artwork it's associated with.
My old account, Kiraxlee, is going to have everything stored. Probably every deviation regardless of content. It's not because I've grown detached from the art- it's that I don't feel like sorting through every deviation deciding what I think I need to store and what I don't. I'm gonna go select all, store it, and be done with it. *Already edited the kiraxlee account and didn't need to store as much as I thought. It was easier to sort through it all by title than I expected.
I am mechanicalkat, but I changed my account's name last year. :>
Just in case it's needed, there's Morrikitty in here: [link]
Morri sketch found in here: [link]
Aaaaand... I didn't find that sketch you did of Iacar anywhere, so you probably didn't put it up here to begin with.
Out of curiosity, how come you're wanting to store all your commissions? Isn't it better business to have examples of how well you've pleased your customers in the past? Or is it because you've just improved enough that you don't think it represents what you can do accurately anymore?
