More practice! I'm getting a little better at refining, but I still have a long way to go.
XD I wish I could take credit for the color choices, but I cannot. I can't create a very good palette on my own yet, and have been creating palettes from various digital paintings and photos for a few weeks. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I go back and forth between using my palettes and choosing my own colors. I'd like to ween off the color palettes in the future, not because I think they're a bad idea, but because I think learning to choose the right colors on my own is ultimately more valuable to me.

Anyway! I was humoring the thought that this might be Gale's cottage in Buca Switch, but I think maybe it came out a little too cheesy. For now, we'll say yeah, he lives there, until I come up with something I'm more comfortable with. The stumps in the foreground needed more attention, but I lost interest because I thought of something I wanted to draw more, haha
It's not finished, but I took it far enough and I learned. That was all I was aiming for.
